VFR Eccentric Rotary Valve
This eccentric rotary valve is an innovatively structured control valve. Its plug rotates about an axis offset from the centerline of the seat, which helps reduce seat wear and extend service life. The valve also features high flow capacity and a wide rangeability.

Features & Benefits
Wear-Resistant Design for Extended Service Life
The plug’s center of rotation is offset from the shaft axis. On opening, the plug disengages from the seat before rotating; on closing, it engages the seat only during the final camming action. This motion is designed to minimize the sliding contact between the plug and seat seal ring, thereby significantly reducing seal wear and extending service life.
High Flow Capacity and Wide Rangeability
The straight-through cylindrical flow path features a simple, low-resistance design, delivering higher flow capacity at the same nominal pipe size compared with straight-through single-seat valves and cage valves. With a rangeability of up to 100:1, the valve accommodates a broad range of flow control applications. For high-flow installations, a smaller nominal size may be specified, helping to reduce costs and save installation space.
Clog and Jam Resistant Design with Self-Cleaning Performance
The spherical plug exerts a compressive force against the seat at the moment of closure, effectively breaking up deposits such as crystalline buildup and scale. The unobstructed, dead-zone-free flow path minimizes media accumulation, making this valve well suited for applications involving particulate-laden, fibrous, high-viscosity, or crystallization- and coking-prone media.
High Control Accuracy and Reliable Sealing
The valve stem and plug are connected by a spline, which offers improved reliability, greater accuracy, and reduced hysteresis compared with conventional keyed connections. The metal seat complies with ANSI B16.104 Class V seat leakage, delivering excellent throttling performance and tight shutoff capability.
Compact, Lightweight Design
The valve body and bonnet are integrally cast, resulting in a compact structure. For the same nominal size, the weight is typically around half that of a comparable straight-through single-seat valve, facilitating easy installation and maintenance.
