MFD Slurry Electromagnetic Flowmeter
The MFD Series Electromagnetic Flowmeter is designed specifically for liquid-solid two-phase flows such as pulp and ore slurry. It employs multi-frequency excitation and anti-interference technology to deliver stable measurement of high-concentration slurries with fast response.

Features & Benefits
Purpose-Built for Slurry Two-Phase Flow, Handles High Solids and Low Conductivity
The MFD series is a slurry-type electromagnetic flowmeter designed specifically for pulp, mud, mineral slurry, and coal-water slurry. It tolerates solids content (by volume) up to 70%—seven times that of standard series (≤10%)—and gas content up to 5%, with a minimum measurable conductivity as low as 5 µS/cm. The measuring tube has no flow restrictions or moving parts, so it causes no additional energy loss and will not clog—ideal for solid-liquid two-phase flow. From leaching and thickening to centrifugal separation, one meter covers the entire slurry process, eliminating the direct failure caused by exceeding the standard solids limit.
High-Frequency Excitation + High-Speed Sampling + Adaptive Filtering for Slurry Noise Suppression
Multi-frequency square-wave excitation, 19,200 SPS high-speed sampling, and DSP digital filtering work in tandem with comb-band filtering, sliding-average smoothing, noise correction, and spike rejection. The adaptive filter automatically adjusts strength based on real-time signal-to-noise ratio—tightening filtering at low flow and high noise, relaxing it at high flow and strong signal—balancing stability and response.
Response as Fast as 0.8 s for Process Interlock Control
Multi-frequency excitation detects flow changes rapidly, with a response time of 0.8 s—meeting the <1 s requirement for process interlock control. Adaptive damping keeps readings stable even under fluctuating flow conditions.
High Accuracy, Bidirectional Measurement, Calibration-Free Transmitter Interchangeability
Accuracy 0.5 class, repeatability ≤±0.06% to ±0.16%; excitation coil insulation resistance up to 500 MΩ for high SNR. DSP signal processing resolves micro-flow signals with startup velocity as low as 6 mm/s (depending on size). Supports bidirectional flow with configurable zero on reverse flow. Standard-simulated sensor calibration means transmitter replacement requires no recalibration against a flow standard; range rescaling needs no readjustment.
Smart Diagnostics + Wide Environmental Tolerance + Easy Installation
mpty-pipe detection with automatic alarm and zeroing; self-diagnostics cover excitation drive, system memory, and overrange faults. Explosion-proof Ex ia/db/eb IIC T4–T6 Gc/Gb, protection IP65/IP67/IP68, ambient temperature –40 °C to +70 °C. Wide power supply AC 100–230 V (±15%) / DC 11–40 V. Magnetic field balancing requires only 5D upstream and 2D downstream straight pipe. RS232/RS485/HART optional, 9-digit forward/reverse/net totalizers, remote and local configuration.
